Sabah Mohammed, Associate AIA, LEED® Green Associate™, EDAC, WELL AP

Sabah Mohammed is an architectural designer and researcher with experience in healthcare projects across South Asia, the Middle East, and the United States in diverse project typologies ranging from new inpatient towers to medical office buildings, department renovations, and master planning projects. Sabah is passionate about designing for women's and children’s health service lines.

Sabah serves on the FGI Health Guideline Revision committee as a women’s and children’s health expert; and has planned and facilitated human-centered and lean-process-infused Reimagining workshops for process consultants, clinicians, healthcare designers, and students. Sabah has presented at the EDRA Conference, the Healthcare Design Conference, the Gravens Conference, and the Clemson International Nursing Conference. Her research and insights have been published in the Perkins&Will Research Journal, Healthcare Design Magazine, and the Journal of Perinatology.

Previously, Sabah was an E. Todd Wheeler Health Fellow and Designer at Perkins&Will, Atlanta where she conducted research on healing environments for patients with behavioral health needs; contributed to various projects, including a new inpatient tower from schematic design through construction administration; and collaborated with interdisciplinary teams on master planning engagements for health systems in Georgia. Sabah began her career at Total Alliance Health Partners International (TAHPI) in Dubai, where she was involved in healthcare planning projects in the Middle East, Malta, and South Asia. Her background in evidence-based design informs her interest in creating better, more equitable environments and services grounded in research.

In 2020, Sabah was awarded the prestigious AIA-AAH Arthur N. Tuttle Jr. Fellowship for her research “Understanding the Couplet Care Environmental Model and its Effect on Bonding Between the Mother and Infant Dyad”. Sabah graduated with a Master of Science in Design + Health from Cornell University and holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the National Institute of Technology, India.
